Fleeces And Samples: Breeds And Common Usage Of Our Fleeces: Cotswold - The Cotswold is a rare and ancient breed dating all the way back to the Roman period. They originated in the Cotswold Hills in England. Due to preservation efforts they are returning in numbers. They are a large sheep producing 9-15 lbs. of fleece in course and lustrous ringlets. Cotswold fleece is used for Outerwear, heardwearing rug and carpet yarns with a 7-12" staple. Fleece Colors: Fleeces from our Spinner's Flock come in a variety of colors, lengths, crimps, lusters and weights for a variety of uses. We have black sheep Cotswold producing beautiful black, brown, tan, red and stunning silver fleece. We also have Cotswold producing cream and tan fleece. We even have our Newfoundland dog fur which has in fact been spun and used for yarn by others. An article can be provided by request. |
