Smiling Bear Newf and Sheep Lodge is west of Seattle across Puget Sound on the Kitsap Peninsula. Sprawling across 2 acres of land in the Port Orchard area, the sheep roam and graze in the gentle mist of the Northwest Morning. All the while our Newfs sit up on the hill, and survey the activity. It's a good thing that we like books because the volume of sheep raising and fiber books read since beginning this venture, makes our college education look flimsy. We have learned quickly, and continue to improve the quality of our wool each day. We also have 8 geese at the lodge. 7 Embden white and one Toulouse named Toulouse LaTreck. They honk, and chase the sheep in a playful way. Trained dogs, trained sheep, trained geese. Now if we could just train the coyotes. |
